Hope & Healing Through Photography and Poetic Expression

Summer 2012

Mandala Of Her Mind

Like a spider,
setting forth
to make
her
way;

Strand by strand,
she weaves
together
antique
threads

of
hope
truth
wisdom.

~~~
Carefully
connecting
delicate
fibers
of
promises
suspended;
She watches
as
mosaic patterns
emerge,
revealing
small
segments of
self.
~~~

Laboriously,
she knits
complex
arrangements,

Intricate
mazes
designed to
capture

dreams
unrealized;

tying
meticulous knots
tightly,

at each
cross-section.

~~~
With
tenuous
twists and
turns,
she
spins
through
tangled tales
of
love;
swinging
wildly
from
silken strings
of
ambiguity.
~~~

Finally,
in the heart
of her
mandala

she
rests

~~~
Knowing
that
her work
for
today
is
done.
Sea Within
“Facing blue waves of uncertainty,
I place my hand on my heart
to honor the sea
in me.”
~~~

Robyn Lee

Please enjoy this excerpt
from Renee Robinson’s
wonderful poem entitled:
Rainbow Of Souls

~~~
The tide washing in
The tide washing out
The current a powerful force
Living in the rhythm of the sea
Alive and breathing
She welcomes me
Standing on a cliff
Way up high
The sea beneath me
Her mist salting my tongue
Her breeze exploring my hair
Imprints in the sand
Her breath, we share
I hear her voice
In the sea air
She calls my name
I hear her heartbeat
Crashing on the rocks
I see her there
I dive in her waters
Within the splashing
Aftershock
I love the sea
I was made for her
Or maybe
She was made for me
She is the past
The present
And the future
She is history
Mystery and
Eternity
The stories she tells
The treasures hidden
All part of her destiny
Alive and breathing
Living in the rhythm of the sea
Miracle Of Blue
Like blue stars
clustered together
before a
glistening gold
sun;
Water droplets
cling
lightly to
smooth, powdery
skin.
They wait, anticipating your
craving
for their
juice of indigo,
and
bittersweet
flesh,
So they may
blissfully
grace the
buds of your
taste.
Crystal Ball II~Dusk
Crystal ball glows
Purple
Red
Summons us, with
No words
Said.
  Quartz
Induced blurred
Trance-like
State;
We float past
Oak trees
Etched in
Fate.
 Jagged Rocks,
Our
Touchstones
Pure;
 Mud
Beneath
Earth’s anchored
Floor.
Indigo water,
Specter of
Light;
 Bath of
Rapture:
Consecrates
Night.
Miracle Of Yellow
“So, when you hold the hemisphere
of a cut lemon above your plate, you spill
a universe of gold…”
~Pablo Neruda
Ode To a Lemon
by, Pablo Neruda
From blossoms
released
by the moonlight,
from an
aroma of exasperated
love,
steeped in fragrance,
yellowness
drifted from the lemon tree,
and from its plantarium
lemons descended to the earth.
Tender yield!
The coasts,
the markets glowed
with light, with
unrefined gold;
we opened
two halves
of a miracle,
congealed acid
trickled
from the hemispheres
of a star,
the most intense liqueur
of nature,
unique, vivid,
concentrated,
born of the cool, fresh
lemon,
of its fragrant house,
its acid, secret symmetry.
Knives
sliced a small
cathedral
in the lemon,
the concealed apse, opened,
revealed acid stained glass,
drops
oozed topaz,
altars,
cool architecture.
So, when you hold
the hemisphere
of a cut lemon
above your plate,
you spill
a universe of gold,
a
yellow goblet
of miracles,
a fragrant nipple
of the earth’s breast,
a ray of light that was made fruit,
the minute fire of a planet.
A Prayer
Dear God,
Let us see that
we are all connected,
and that Love is the pivotal
universal truth we must embrace to
ensure peace and collective wellbeing
during our brief stay here on planet Earth.
~Amen~
Free Spirit
Angelic child
Beckons me;
Soft sweet smiles
Aura: gold and free.
With reckless abandon
She skips through dirt piles;
Lips stained chocolate
Wispy wind-blown hairstyle.
Something pure
Yet something wise;
Her sun shines down hope
As she swings through the sky.
My Crystal Ball
Gaze into
My
Crystal
Ball
Potential:
Limitless
No borders
Or walls.
Paths
Paved with
Gold
Translucent
Blue
Sky;
You
Needn’t
Hesitate, nor
Wonder
Why.
Winged creatures
Sing–
‘Welcome’
Invite you
To stay;
Emerald trees
Offer
Branches,
To guide your
Way.
So rub my
Crystal ball
And
Know,
The
Journey
Awaits us;
It’s time to go.
Calming Fear
pressed
like
a pancake
flat on
my back
help me
find
my arms
my legs
my breath
help me
feel
the warmth
see beyond
the fire
help me
float
between the
blankets of fear
Storyteller Of Salt
When we quiet our minds
We so easily hear
Wise words of the waves
Dialect: flowing and clear.
 Hypnotic salt tales
Told in soft rhythmic hum
Rippling echoes of ocean,
Reflect voices of sun.
 The grand stories our sea tells
Will enchant and enthrall;
Since the lessons our tides teach,
Pertain to us all.
~Robyn Lee
Once Upon A Time
she found new hope that someday,
her dreams of happiness would come true.”
Her Pain Dance
~~~
She extends
~~~
 Spine arched sharply over
Shaded green fields,
Facing her
 Daily mission.
~~~
She prepares
~~~
Like a
Lyrical dancer
Shifting her limbs
Purposefully
in
 Synchronized
Pandemonium;
Beginning another
Onerous quest
To reclaim her
Center.
~~~
She yearns
~~~
to
Unravel
Adhesed
Muscle fibers,
 Tame
 Rebellious joints,
and
 Align
her
 Misplaced bones.
~~~
She stretches
~~~
Fiercely
with
 Resilience
of
a
Brave Tigress
Setting forth
Deliberate intent
to
Free nerves
Trapped
Helplessly on their
 Path.
~~~
She exhales
~~~
Forcefully;
Hips Throbbing
Rotating her pelvis
around
The vertical axis of
her
Spine,
Drawing
Painstaking circles
in
 The air;
Seeking the graceful place
Where relief
Resides.
~~~
She resists
~~~
Cruel
Demonic Forces
Contracting
Her tenacious fascia,
and
Summons
Strong willful fingers
to
Knead deeply into her own
Aching  tissue.
~~~
She sobs
~~~
softly;
Wrapping
 Her long thin arms
Tightly around
Self,
and
in
the
Shadow
of
 Agony’s harsh
Embrace
~~~
bows
~~~
solemnly
 to
stillness.
Hospitable Heart
 “We welcome love into our lives
when we come to trust
that the doors of our
hearts are best
left wide
open.”
~
Robyn Lee
Because of its open heart-shaped spathe and tropical look, the Anthurium flower is considered worldwide to be the symbol of hospitality. This shy yet seductive plant says :  ‘Come on in, you’re welcome here.’
Gratify
“I come
To answer thy pleasure; be’t to fly,
To swim, to dive into the fire, to ride
On the curl’d clouds, to thy strong bidding task…”
William Shakespeare
The Tempest
Classic Joy
In that pure perfect zone
Excited and free,
Wet luscious sand
Meets a vibrating sea;
Senses are flowing
Sights, textures, and sound,
 As he makes his great mark,
In God’s timeless
playground.
