We Know…

There are
some
things

~

 we
are
born
knowing;

~

We
know

~

we can
touch
the
sky

with
our
heart;

~

We
know

~

the
sea
will keep

 our
secrets
safe;

~

We
know

~

treasures
always
hide

in
places
unexpected;

~

We
know

~

we
are
worthy;

~

We
know

~

we
are
grace;

~

We
know

~

we
are
love;

~

And

~

when we
grow
up

~

all
we
truly
need

~

to
know

is:

REMEMBER

___

She Spins

round – and – round she twirls

dreamer spinning fairy tales

 orbiting wonder

~~~
we came spinning
out of nothingness
scattering stars
like dust
the stars made a circle
and in the middle
we dance
the wheel of heaven
circles God
like a mill
if you grab a spoke
it will tear your hand off
turning and turning
it sunders
all attachment
were that wheel not in love
it would cry
“enough! how long this turning?”
every atom
turns bewildered
beggars circle tables
dogs circle carrion
the lover circles
his own heart
ashamed,
I circle shame
a ruined water wheel
whichever way I turn
is the river
if that rusty old sky
creaks to a stop
still, still I turn
and it is only God
circling Himself
Free Spirit
Angelic child
Beckons me;
Soft sweet smiles
Aura: gold and free.
With reckless abandon
She skips through dirt piles;
Lips stained chocolate
Wispy wind-blown hairstyle.
Something pure
Yet something wise;
Her sun shines down hope
As she swings through the sky.
Puerility
almighty Tree
watch over me
hold me secure
guard puerility’s door
Prime Seats Inspired
~~~

Delighted that my image below, Prime Seats  inspired fellow blogger, Wendy Strohm, to compose this lovely poem entitled Climbing a Tree which is reflective of her own childhood memories.
Warm thanks to Wendy, and hope everyone will enjoy !

There’s nothing better than climbing a tree

And being high up with so far to see

There are various branches on which to play

And I can stay up here for most of the day

This branch here is my galloping horse

And the string I’ve tied are the reins of course

That branch over there is for my friend

We talk so much – till there is no end

But this broad branch is my favourite one

As it’s slightly shadowed from the sun

And I cannot be seen from the first look

I can lay just here and read my book

I have brought an apple for my lunch

You can tell I’m here from the noisy crunch!

~Wendy Strohm

Prime Seats

Is there anyplace else we’d rather be,
than nestled up high in the
palm of a tree

Little Me

“The reluctance to put away childish things may be a requirement of genius.”

Childhood Found

Lost Childhood

small footprints mark the earth
laughter woven into the wind
spirit children play

tossing stones
leaping into the air
each foot landing in its rightful space

under the watchful trees
on the hidden path
in the haunted glen
