  3. Yes she can’t be tamed
for she is born to devour all
    substance and emotion
in one fiery vortex of heat ,
Her lava is nectar for life
    Life for our breaths
and breaths for our existence ….

    Lovely, Robyn.

Now, what I wouldn’t do for an open fire like yours. Nothing beats it for warming the soul and providing creative words of verse.

    June 29, 2013 at 12:25 AM

    • Thank you so much Vicki! Glad you liked! Yes — you inspired me to post this yesterday when we were conversing about photographing subjects indoors vs out! Fire is a special one, I admit! Next I will have to try the ceiling ~ 😉 lol! You feel better soon my friend ~ Much Love, RL

  6. Such a source of thought .. the fire.. one can sit for hours and watch it burn, and what one sees you will never see again, as no two flames are ever the same.. such a source of inspiration, relaxation as well as its heat.. we often sit around a camp fire that grows with the deepening of the night.. bigger and bigger it will become as log after log gets added… and so often there comes that time when the chatter around the fire grows quiet and everyone sits mesmerized by the leaping flames, deep in thought and almost hypnotized by the changing colour of light emanating from the source of warmth that the fire shares with all those around it…
Again your words and photos take me to another place in my mind… and so often, like this one, brings such happy memories back from years ago… thank you Dear Friend, I am such an admirer of your work that words cannot express my feelings… go well and keep them coming…

    June 29, 2013 at 1:33 AM

    • Sooo true Bulldog! As I was staring at the fire and then the shot of the fire, I was thinking just this – how it tells a million stories and and entertains in so many ways. It is wild and passionate, and yet warming and soothing too. Yes – it can hypnotize and bring out the deepest of thoughts we may be harboring.

I am always very flattered by your praise my dear friend….thank you so much. Such encouragement really keeps me motivated to continue creating these small works, and I appreciate more than you know. Sending much Love and Hugs across the planet ~ x Robyn

  18. Dearest Robyn,
I feel the heat from your fire. I see the energy, the power of fervor rising from its source, the heart below. The heart may be a bit abstract, but it’s for sure a heart, a beautiful heart from you.
Thank you, Robyn! No matter how busy I get with work, I always relish my moments reading your enchanting posts. You know, they really are healing.
With much love F-G-S Resa xo

    June 29, 2013 at 10:50 AM

    • Thank you my dearest Resa …hmmm ~ I am sensing there is serious poetic talent lurking within that brilliant artistic “designer mind” of yours! This was beautiful to read. And oh yes – the “abstract heart” I can see and feel that too … encompassed within the flames — *heart of fire*
      … most powerful indeed.

I know you are super busy these days on new assignment (exciting!) ~ so am ever so honored that you can still find time and joy here with me.
You’ve made my day… as always, Love F-G-S RL x

  25. Ah, fire…,
    dangerous,
    destructive,
    sensous,
    productive,
    erotic,
    exotic,
…warms you with a tender kiss if you keep your distance
…burns you with an angry hiss if you touch
…with the flames of passion fills your heart
…but without your help will never start.
Really liked what you wrote here, Robyn. Brings to mind the spirit of the other RL I once knew. Hugs,
    Paul

    June 29, 2013 at 10:45 PM

    • Oh wow Paul ~ this was pretty awesome to read… poetry in an of itself – and right-on as far as your interpretations and symbolism too. Beautiful my friend – thank you truly! I loved the last two,
“…with the flames of passion fills your heart
…but without your help will never start.”
~ So glad I could help stir up that memory for you –

  27. Hello my most special of friends. This morning, Christina and I were having a discussion about who we thought had influenced us the most positively in our past year of blogging – as we had each recently reached our blogging anniversary. In her Vlog she focused on a few of the men who had been supportive of her reemergence . As a result of her life experiences, that was understandable, she was frozen for so long from loss and lack of confidence. But we both agreed that overall you were the one that truly inspired us and lifted us up, again and again . In all ways you embody and present in your blog the essence of what all would wish to be. Talented, Creative, Caring, Loving, Responsible, Brave, Enduring and with such gentle grace when you interact with your followers in the comment section, yours or theirs. No one impacted us greater as we moved from where we were emotionally (a hard place) to where we are today, moving forward. I say thank you with all my heart. This current post is just one more example of your amazingly creative talent that we all get to partake of and enjoy. The fire one of the essenial elements in life. In our blogging world – you are! All my love to you, Penny

    June 30, 2013 at 7:15 PM

    • Oh my goodness Penny — I have been away from the computer for a bit – and then to come back to this overwhelmingly amazing comment. I am speechless. I really never imagined touching others the way you describe when I began to blog. It is so heartwarming for me to read your words here and know you and Christina feel this way…. a complete honor really. You both are very special to me…. somehow just adopted you guys from the get-go 🙂 I felt an instant connection and huge amount of empathy and compassion for all you two were going through at that time. It really gives me so much joy now knowing how much growth and expansion has taken place for all of us over the year. Christina has evolved into an amazing poetess… sharing her heart so openly in her works and in such an enchanting style… you are the gift that keeps giving to all that are fortunate to know you and glean pearls of wisdom from your regular posts. I am more than touched by your words here… and only wish for you and the entire family ongoing blessings and love as you continue on in your journeys. As for me — I keep holding on too – and feel so fortunate to have this fantastic world at my fingertips — some very amazing friendships have been born here…and I am so grateful.
So much Love ~ May our community fire continue to flourish!
      Eternally with Love,
      Robyn

      July 1, 2013 at 2:26 PM

  29. Love this one Robyn! Like many others, fires hold a fascination for me. As a child, watching all the colours and shapes was magical. The ‘eternal flame’ burning in us – hope I think, impossible to extinguish, however much it is tested. Much love Robyn xx

    June 30, 2013 at 8:15 PM

    • I do have to agree Ruth – as long as we take care to nurture the flames — they will continue to flourish and evolve. So appreciate your thoughtful words today! Much Love x RL

  32. Now this is just great, Fire, a conflagration was always at the back of my mind, but a romance also could be in the mix as another point of view. I like how fire is seen as feminine. All your works are so provocative, you are one of my favouritestest blogs to go visit. I shall bring a tent next time i come by and live here, like a squatter but one with good hygiene.

    July 1, 2013 at 4:03 PM

    • Hi Ste J! Thanks so much! I am so happy you enjoyed … yes, this often happens to me when I write about natural wonders. The pieces lend themselves to what might also be perceived as romantic, passionate or sensual. I guess nature is that way!! 🙂 No wonder so many lovers watch sunsets and walk along the shore! So honored to be in your “favouritestest blogs” category! You are more than welcome to come squat in your tent here any time 😉 Totally know you will always exercise the bestest of hygiene too! ~ *laughing now* !! RL x

      July 1, 2013 at 10:32 PM

      • You join an elite band of bloggers, sort of like a less dramatic active A-Team, really. I shall make myself right at home. Romance is becoming more interesting to me these days, your work is universal in that regard, no matter what languages you understand, everyone instantly knows romance/passion/sensuousness when they see it.

        July 2, 2013 at 1:05 PM

    • This is true — and most also knows clouds, sea, sun, trees, fire etc etc! I also try to keep my posts short and easy to read – even if they go a little deep at times ~ I know how much time it takes to keep up with numerous wonderful blogs – so I attempt to be courteous and not confuse the masses too much 😉 But yes – romance is a lovely thing! x RL

      July 2, 2013 at 2:19 PM

  33. Robyn – You never cease to amaze me with your beautiful words and the pairing with such beautiful images. Your blog came up on my iPad last night but I knew the iPad screen would never do it justice. I wanted to wait until today for the full visual affect and I’m so glad I did.

    July 1, 2013 at 4:04 PM

    • Sheri ~ you are most kind lovely friend. I am truly honored to know you enjoy my humble works here… 🙂
Sending lots of love your way this night ~ x Robyn

hi dear Robyn, like fire and desire your verse is insatiable … its boundless appetite preys upon our imagination in ways narrative language can only hint at. i love your lyricism … and your passion. xo tony

    July 1, 2013 at 4:55 PM

    • dear Tony ~ thank you so much! oh my, this is the highest praise,…especially coming from such an accomplished master of ‘lyricism’–as you are. i have actually been told several times that my humble works sometimes reflect this quality … and, although it is never my direct intention, it surprises, and delights me when this spontaneously occurs.

as for preying upon the imagination– hmmm? … well that just has to be a very good thing! 😉
insatiable passion & love to you always, my special friend ~
      x Robyn

    July 1, 2013 at 7:11 PM

    • Thank you so much dearest Christina! I am so pleased to know you were “powerfully enchanted” because I consider your writings to be the epitome of this genre! 🙂 So thrilled you enjoyed the fire with me! Sending hugs and tons of love your way ~ today and always, Robyn x

      July 1, 2013 at 11:08 PM

  36. Lovely rhythm to this one. I read it a few times just because I liked the way the words flowed and bounced off each other from one to the next. I always have so many questions when I read your poems, but I refrain from asking. Maybe it’s that I don’t want to intrude on personal things, maybe because I like the mystery of not knowing exactly who or what you may be referring to. I’ll maintain my curiosity but just know that I always love reading your posts. Much love to you -AB

    July 1, 2013 at 7:37 PM

    • Thank you Arash ~ you are so funny! You can ask questions anytime…. but most likely there may not be an easy answer (not because I would not want to share – but because much of what I write is even a bit mysterious to me 🙂 ). I am assuming this writing project is some method of tapping into a deeper/subconscious place – because I truly never have a plan, and honestly – the photos always inspire the words for me ~ which is opposite many others as I understand. I am always in awe if my verse make sense, and touch others in some way. Just very honored to know you enjoy – and, please, intrude any time you’d like dear friend ~ Love and Hugs , X RL

      July 1, 2013 at 11:19 PM

      • Thanks for explaining Robyn, it all makes sense. I’m so impressed that you write your poems based on the inspiration from your photos… That’s incredible! I do enjoy your posts and will be less hesitant to ask but I may just enjoy the mystery of it all too. 🙂 Much love to you -AB

        July 3, 2013 at 12:27 AM

      • yes Arash – really began blogging because my kids said I was posting too many nature pix on Facebook and and clogging their Feeds! LOL ~ They are in 20s! So my older daughter decided I needed my very own blog. I was not even familiar with blogging or what it meant – had no idea I would be needing to interact/reply to comments – etc. When I created the blog I saw the space for “My Story” and so decided to pour my heart out ~ and look where I it took me! It wasn’t till a fellow-blogger wonderful lady (who happened to teach university writing) encouraged me to “write my own quotations” to accompany my images (since I’d been sharing famous ones at that point), that I began writing a bit on the creative side…. little by little it became more natural and here I am. All good and fun ~ which is a good thing for everyone I believe! So glad you enjoy my musings dear friend – means a ton~ Love x RL

  41. Exquisite, Robyn. This resonates deeply with my own heart right now. I feel the movement of the Divine in her feminine form (in me, around me, from me) – and I feel her power…the power of gentleness AND her fierceness. I am finding that the Divine won’t be tamed within me — finally, finally taking whatever air there is to be embodied (your last poem!). No, she won’t be tamed any longer. I think of you so often. I read your poetry out loud to Brian as we are in the ktichen with the kiddos. How deeply mysterious they are — and yet…familiar. Thank you, Robyn. So lovely. There aren’t words, really, for your beauty embodied in your poetry. Very inspiring, Robyn. Little by little, I am sharing my own poetry more. Thank you for inspiring me. Love, Lisa

    July 2, 2013 at 10:59 PM

    • Thanks dearest Lisa! I am so happy you could feel the energy behind this verse and photo so passionately, and so powerfully. I know that feeling too – when the force won’t be tamed – and resides in a sacred space within ~ Divine Energy Rising as some say — 😉 Thank you also for letting me know you share my work with your Brian ~ that is just so touching to me. I am so glad you are feeling good about sharing your wonderful poetry …you always write from a wonderful place in your heart! Love and Blessings ~ Robyn

      July 3, 2013 at 4:01 PM

  42. dearest, i am so tired but had to say how meaning-filled your words are to me. there are none of my own as you’ve said them all in yours. i am the wrathful mother, the loving presence she demands i be. at times i am humbled when she dances in another so much the same and so very different. i am amazed at such energy as it dances alike in our hearts’ essence. much love to you this day. namaste… might the sea treat you well and give you healing if only for this very moment. xxx

    • hi dear Linda ~ yes – I know you too are a woman of great passion and tremendous FIRE ~ and no matter what comes before you in the way of challenge – your fervent spirit never will be broken. I’m so very sorry you are facing this fatigue now… I know it’s been crazy hot out west. I’ve been keeping you in heart – and hope you are doing ok over there. Yes – the sea was good to me today ~ I did get to visit late in the day when most of the crowds were gone… and it was lovely. Thank you my sweet friend ~ much love and hugs ~ x Robyn

  43. Finally I guessed correctly…fire! Towards the end I began to second-guess myself and was thinking perhaps the sun. Hope you and the family are enjoying your holiday Robyn. 🙂

    • lol ~ LuAnn you are good! I wonder how many do try to guess (and don’t look at image first) I know for sure Bulldog and now you enjoy this practice, and that makes me happy! Yes – it was a peaceful 4th for us — got to the sea for a short while for a simple picnic dinner. Was lovely. Sending warmest wishes to you and yours for this holiday weekend too! x Robyn

  44. How wonderful to be able to read your words again! I have had no access to the internet to my move to Georgia, and it took more out of me physically than i thought! I found myself in so much pain, I could not stand long, sit, in a chair for more than an hour and even laying was a torment! My neck and back and legs were too weak to walk. I feel my strength coming back and is a joy to be able to read your words again Robyn. Hugs and blessings dear sister!

    • Oh Wendell – so very sorry to hear you have been struggling at the same time you are in the midst of moving. I can only imagine how stressful the move must be… and certainly relate to the difficulties with sitting/standing/lying down. Gosh, I am going to keep you in prayer and heart – and hope that you are settled in now, and can take extra good care of self. I am very happy my words have brought some joy — especially now. Blessings my dear friend ~ Love, Robyn

  46. Wow!
And I do not recall beginning a comment with that one word ever before… O Robyn, my wonderful friend, I just sat here and read and read and read…. Indeed, of Fire you are…. and so are your words! Never can be tamed what need not be tamed, except only by “that Fire” itself which burns and resurrects.

I loved this so much, wonderful Robyn! Thank you so much for reminding what we women truly are — both in and out of our “mirrors”.
Love and more love to you!
    xx

    • Dearest sf ~ thank you soooooo much. You are so generous and kind with your exquisite praise. I am truly honored and thrilled to know you could feel the fire here ~ and that it resonated with you and inspired your own beautiful and expressive reply. YES ~ the essence of our womanhood embodied in the flames…exactly my lovely friend~ our “mirrors” ~ Love and Hugs across the seas, Robyn

  48. Julie Catherine

Powerful, provocative, sultry and spicy! This poem conjured up the feelings I tried to express when I wrote “Den of Iniquity” … whether you interpret the poem as depicting the burning desire of lovers or as the photo indicates, the mesmerizing power of the flame, you’ve captured the essence beautifully here, dear Robyn! Love this! Much love and gentle hugs to you from Julie 🙂 xoxox
