Beach Grass…
As the sun was beginning to descend across the way, I was drawn to this vision of beach grass, dancing in the chilled ocean winds. There is just no stopping this stuff!
So I did a little research when I got home, and learned that beach grass, which is officially called Ammophila, has extensive systems consisting of stems which creep underground allowing the grasses to thrive under conditions of shifting sands and high winds. It is one hearty species, and is what keeps our sand dunes stable! There is a rootedness this plant possesses that is a force to be reckoned with….it’s wild and beautiful too.
Nice to know that we too can be rooted. We too can call upon deeper systems within us, we can thrive and grow stronger…even when life’s conditions are turbulent. And we too can be wild and beautiful all the while.
Isn’t it comforting to realize that during challenging times, just focussing our attention on beach grass may help.
Much Love,
Robyn
