Crystal Ball II~Dusk
Crystal ball glows
Purple
Red
Summons us, with
No words
Said.
Quartz
Induced blurred
Trance-like
State;
We float past
Oak trees
Etched in
Fate.
Jagged Rocks,
Our
Touchstones
Pure;
Mud
Beneath
Earth’s anchored
Floor.
Indigo water,
Specter of
Light;
Bath of
Rapture:
Consecrates
Night.

Thank you so much bulldogstruf! I am very inspired by these spherical photos as they let me truly escape into my ‘crystal ball’ which is great fun!! This is another breed of photography… somewhat abstract and artsy. Truly I never thought I’d use this fisheye lens because of the induced distortion- but now I’m loving the concept of crystal ball fantasy pieces 🙂 So glad you enjoyed with my poetry too– though must add that your photography is world-class my friend, and can see why National Geographic scooped your work up!! ~ much love, R

oooo – so glad LD — excited you like it — thought about you when I worked on it 🙂 Photo is an older one I never expected to use – but now with my crystal ball series, I thought perfect and inspired the poem quite naturally!! I’m hanging in ~ ready for more investigative studies – ick – but know how much I appreciate your good thoughts and prayers my way ~ Sending much Love your way! RL
July 26, 2012 at 12:38 AM
well, that you thought of me as you wrote this is a tender honour, wow, and you never expected to use this? lol You have got to pull more rejected pictures out of your arsenal…i love it like crazy:) And your love, open arms recieve it. Thank you. Hope that those studies go well and don’t cause you more pain. Healing thoughts your ways..always.
July 26, 2012 at 12:57 AM
So glad to hear that you liked so much. Yes – for some reason you popped in my head with this one 🙂 Yes – will have to explore more rejected pictures… now that i”m getting a little more brave here …. guess I feel it’s safe to go outside the box a bit which is great… Appreciate all your good wishes my way — will be a bit before we hear from my surgeon in California ~ he’s a ‘rock star’ – but hopefully we will get this sorted out and I’ll get past some of this rough stuff…. more love and peace your way friend ~RL

Wow !
(I’m almost speechless – wonderful words & amazing image).
July 26, 2012 at 1:22 AM
I too love your crystal ball…never have used a fisheye…quite effective here..and particularly like “earths anchored floor.” A wonderful escape for me now sleepless…great post!
July 26, 2012 at 1:50 AM
Thank you Meryl. Interesting about the fisheye. I have not done much studying up on it as far as its appropriate uses in photography, but since both my cameras have this feature, I’d played with it a while back thinking it was interesting but too distorted for the most part. I’m going to do more research though – and for now – it’s my crystal ball behind the lens. So glad you enjoyed and hope the image and verse helped lull you to sleep ~ I also was up in the wee hours but shut down the computer right around your post time xxoo
July 26, 2012 at 10:17 AM

What a stunning poem Robyn and the photo is somewhat hypnotising, I found myself staring at it for ages in a trance like state, beautiful.x
July 26, 2012 at 4:40 AM
Chris… and I bet you didn’t know I had the power to hypnotize you all the way from here to England did you? ! LOL! 🙂 Thank you sooo much! I am very happy you enjoyed the poem and image so much ~ means a lot dear friend xo
July 26, 2012 at 10:35 AM
Ha ha ha ha, I didn;t have a clue but if you have the power to do that then you have the power to get better, I hope you’ve been bearing up recently and you are not in too much pain, you are in my thoughts. Take care Robyn.x
July 26, 2012 at 12:33 PM
I got a good chuckle out of your post this am – thinking the same…if we could just hypnotize our hip joints we’d be all set!!! I am rolling out my adductor muscles on a basketball as I type this – pain has been at new heights 😦 Will keep working on the healing powers – you too my friend xo
July 26, 2012 at 12:47 PM
Lol, yes if we could only do that it would be perfect. You keep working on those adductor muscles and make sure they are doing as they are told instead of answering you back all the time. I have another physio apt tomorrow afternoon and hoping I’ll be given more exercises to do, there has been no change as of yet but on a positive note there has been no flare up either so I’m trying to keep that in mind. I’m so sorry your pain as been at new heights, you stay strong and we WILL become pain free. Did you say you were going for another MRI to see if there was ongoing damage to your joints, if so when? I really hope it is just muscular and no more operations are needed, my thoughts are always with you Robyn.x

In a crystal ball of life, you captured the essence. Beautiful, Robyn. The imagery is breathing.
July 26, 2012 at 8:04 AM
Beautiful comment dear Pawan… yes – very much can be the ‘crystal ball of life’ if we allow it to. I am so happy the post moved you ~ much love…
July 26, 2012 at 10:39 AM

July 26, 2012 at 2:16 PM

Celeste xoxoxo
July 26, 2012 at 8:29 AM
Thank you dear Celeste! I think you may be right here…as when I shot this, I was not doing my own writing yet here on my blog, and was not keen on posting the image as a feature, yet when I revisited it recently and was inspired to write my own poetic verse, I felt as though the image did come ‘to life’!! Such an amazing thing to experience. So happy you enjoyed it too ~ means a lot. Sending lots of love your way today ~ Robyn xo
July 26, 2012 at 11:01 AM

July 26, 2012 at 11:31 PM
🙂 Yes, I did….you deserved them.. I just posted one that is full of angst…. 🙂
July 26, 2012 at 11:33 PM
Oh no…coming right over!
July 26, 2012 at 11:36 PM
“Summons us”, Hmmm. Does the ball reveal our future or draw us to the one it has planned?
July 26, 2012 at 7:29 PM
Ahhh… very insightful Carl. I think it this case the ball knew Robyn needed an ‘excursion’ and drew her in for her own good 🙂 So glad this crystal thing looks after me ~ Hope you are doing well tonight friend!~ ~R
