Eavesdropping
“I wish I were like you,”
Said the forest
to the roaring river,
“Always traveling,
always sightseeing;
Rushing towards the pure domain
of the sea,
The kingdom of water;
Water,
The passionate, vigorous spirit
of life,
The liquid turquoise of light
With eternal flow …”
“But what am I?
Only a captive,
chained to the earth.
In silence I grow old,
In silence I wither and die,
And before long
nothing will remain of me
But a handful of ashes.”
“O forest, half-asleep, half-awake”,
Cried the river,
“I wish I were you,
Enjoying a seclusion
of living emerald,
And illuminated by moonlit nights;
Being a mirror
reflecting the beauties
of Spring;
A shaded rendezvous for lovers.”
“Your destiny, a new life
every year;
My life, running away from myself
all the time;
Running. running, running
in bewilderment;
And what is my gain
Of all this meaningless journey?
Ah … never having a moment of calm
and rest!”
“No one can ever know
what the other feels;
Who does care to ask
about a passer-by
If he really existed
or was only a shadow?”
Now a passer-by
Aimlessly walking in the shade
Comes to ask himself,
“Who am I? a river? a forest?
Or both?
River and forest?

Temptation
When sweet temptation stares you down
Do not despair for you have found;
That sacred place dwelled deep inside
Where vital sparks of you reside

What Is Important…
“What is important is that you taught me to believe in myself, persist in the face of adversity, consume knowledge and wisdom, and then mold and shape my best life. There will literally be thousands of parents at graduation next weekend, but very few of them taught (and modeled) wisdom to their children the way you have for me and Case, and that’s why we are who we are.
That’s what this moment in my life is about…”
* a brief excerpt from a recent letter sent to me by my daughter Marysa
So very proud of this brilliant and beautiful child of mine. Her note brought me to tears, as I reflected on the love and deep wisdom she displayed even as a small child. She graduates university summa cum laude on Sunday. I am so thankful to be here (after being uncertain till this morning if I would be able to come due to my ongoing medical challenges), and plan to participate in the weekend’s events every way I possibly can. There is no greater gift a child can bestow upon a parent than the one she has given us, merely by living her truth, and being the magnificent soul she genuinely is.
I Love You Marysa!

Perch and adore

This exotic winged creature joined me one afternoon in my yard, soon after I caught his attention by bringing out a vase of these freshly cut sunflowers(below). He then proudly posed for me, perched upon a flower stem!
This post is dedicated to my youngest daughter who is heading home from college for the summer tomorrow. When she was small I called her my “Butterfly Baby”…and I still do.

Attract
“It is only when you love yourself deeply and without condition,
that it becomes effortless to attract the very thing
your heart desires most.”
~Robyn Lee
You might recall meeting the fellow pictured below in my post entitled,
Observe « THROUGH THE HEALING LENS…
 He and the mermaid above have not yet met, and reside in different locales,
but I expect they will find each other very soon. 😉
