Observe
“When we step back and become the observer,
we witness life with clarity that otherwise, we could not achieve.
It is only as the observer that we are able to embrace it all.”

You chose just the right angle….Its amazing the mood that can be obtained with the right composition…Everything you do just draws the eye…

Flattered David. So glad you liked it. Yes – angle seems hugely important in creating mood. I think this part of photography comes natural to me. It’s all the tech stuff that is foreign. I’m just having fun though – so it’s all good. Appreciate your great feedback!

I’m wondering where you found him…:)
April 12, 2012 at 7:42 AM
Ahhhh.. can’t reveal my secrets. LOL! On days when I can’t muster up a walk due to the joint pain, I drive to remote locations (within minutes of my house) and look for interesting photo ops. I stumbled upon this fellow deep in bought on one of those days 🙂 Can take you there “pre-season” if you want a live peak at him!!

Good is knowing how to observe, as well as listen. Observe far as the eye reaches, to infinity, it becomes like a balm for our thoughts and our soul, we can perhaps even imagine where the future is the station dream season.
Gracias y adiós…

I agree Carlos! It’s when we take ourselves out of the observation and look with a pure eye that we REALLY SEE all there is – and the beauty therein. Yes – a balm — and maybe even the future… Gracias to you!

You find amazing angles. Beautiful shot!
April 12, 2012 at 9:05 AM
Thank you Kathy…if only my femurs did 🙂 HSS tomorrow for injections 😦 I will try to remain the “observer” and hope that makes it all easier!
April 12, 2012 at 12:11 PM
Most would not have thought to capture this guy in profile… so that we see what he sees… you are an observer indeed!
April 12, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Such an insightful comment Ivy. Thank you. Maybe I am… because when I shot this, I had no idea what I’d do with it. I was very attracted to the scene though, despite being in pretty bad form physically that day. Synchronicity I guess… as it seemed to be a good mediation for me when I revisited the image much later! Appreciate:)

I love this quote, my favourite of yours so far. Thanks Robyn

Thanks so much Andy! Yes – some of these quotes just sort of come to me while i meditate on a given image. All are pretty spontaneous. I’m so glad you enjoyed!

Absolutely did 🙂 thank you for sharing 🙂

It’s true. Sometimes it hard to notice the big picture because we get so wrapped up in one minor detail. That minor detail at times doesn’t deserve all of the attention it’s getting.

So true Lisa. Thanks for your thoughtful comment!!

I’ve been trying to remind myself of this very point lately which has been polluting my ability to write.
