My Mother’s Light
~
Just as the magnificent sun shines high in the sky,
my Mother’s light illuminates the heart of each
soul who is so blessed to know her smile,
her kindness, her radiance…her Love.
Happy Birthday Mom;
I Love you Always!
Robyn Lee
The Mother
~Kahlil Gibran
The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word “Mother,”
and the most beautiful call is the call of “My mother.”
It is a word full of hope and love, a sweet and kind word
coming from the depths of the heart.
The mother is everything– she is our
consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery,
and our strength in weakness.
She is the source of love, mercy,
sympathy,and forgiveness….
Everything in nature bespeaks the mother.
The sun is the mother of earth and gives it its nourishment of heart;
it never leaves the universe at night until it has put the earth to sleep
to the song of the sea and the hymn of birds and brooks.
And this earth is the mother of trees and flowers.
It produces them, nurses them, and weans them.
The trees and flowers become kind mothers
of their great fruits and seeds.
And the mother,
the prototype of all existence,
is the eternal spirit,
full of beauty and love.
Speechless, absolutely love this!

This is such a lovely post. My Mum, who was only 4’11” tall, is with me still though I lost her many years ago. We used to tease her and call her MiniMum and now my MiniMum is often sitting on my shoulder so that I can still listen to her advice and know that she loves me.
Thank you so much for this post and for sharing the love you and your Mum have for each other. With love to you both 🙂
October 9, 2012 at 12:19 PM

October 13, 2012 at 12:27 PM
Thank you dear Julie ~ yes I especially liked the 2nd stanza in Gibran’s poem because it spoke eloquently of the “mother energy” in nature… and this is what I think is that universal maternal love and light that can nourish even in the absence of the physical mother figure…. I am very happy you were able to feel that too dear friend ~ xxoo
October 13, 2012 at 1:22 PM
Chills, here. Beautiful and so very kind. Her spirit is refleted in the effort and beauty you have displayed. And I love Gibran. 🙂 xo

I am keeping you in heart and prayer along with you precious mom… HUGE hug for you tonight Resa- and LOVE too.. x
