  11. Seems we were of like mind in our thoughts, Robyn. The sea creates powerful visions and you put them into beautiful words. I posted a piece about the sea just yesterday. X

    April 6, 2013 at 4:09 PM

    • Thank you so much dearest Paul ~ it is so true- the sea is powerful and magnificent. I am thrilled you enjoyed this — and yes – I did get to savor your latest post finally – wow! I wrote you there, and mentioned it actually had some things in common with a post I did a while back ~ https://throughthehealinglens.com/2012/08/25/the-finale/ You and I have a thing for the sunsets and Tides 😉 ~ Love & Light RL

  12. Beautiful words Robyn and picture. ‘Imprints remain’ – I like that idea of how we all leave our marks wherever we go. Sending love to you dear friend xx

    April 6, 2013 at 4:38 PM

    • Thank you so much dearest Ruth… yes, i think the imprints do live on — and energies of eternal love are probably very abundant at the beach 🙂 So happy you enjoyed – and hoping you are doing well ~ love and light — RLx

  13. Hello Robyn, your opening words set the stage for the sentiment and feelings that follow, perfectly expressed through your written poem. Each word has a value. Each value adds to the understood meaning. Each meaning adds to the shared experience and the photograph perfectly illustrates your beautiful and eloquently written words! Sigh, Just perfect! (yes I know I used the word perfect 3, now make that 4 times – just making a point vbbb of mine – did you catch it?) much love to you dearest one ~ Penny xo

    April 6, 2013 at 4:54 PM

    • Oh Penny, my wise and dearest friend… -I am quite flattered by your words of praise… So happy you enjoyed my simple verse. Looking at this couple, I imagined all the couples that ever graced this beautiful shoreline… the energy of the collective love, eternal love, that lives on in these grains of sand. Very thrilled you enjoyed the combination of poetry and image here… always value your input! Thank you and LOADS of love ~ RL

      April 6, 2013 at 10:38 PM

      • I don’t think I’d use the word simple, perhaps refined, a distilled essence using just the right words Robyn. I like your thoughts about the energy of collective love and eternal love, being absorbed by the grains of sand, I sigh just thinking on it. I love everything you present creatively. It’s always a work of art, so always a pleasure to enjoy and comment on dearest friend, sleep well tonight, I do hope there has been some improvement with your therapy, As always I send positive healing energy your way. Love you, Penny xo

        April 7, 2013 at 2:02 AM

      • Thank you Penny ~ it is funny when i write sometimes, I keep chopping away words — must like the “refined” effect 🙂 Yes – I knew you would see the collective energy in this as well. It’s a lovely thing to contemplate, isn’t it. Thank you again for all your loving encouragement. Still not where I want to be on the physical – but wont give up…. much Love to you dearest friend ~ XRL

  16. I spent this past weekend at ocean listening to the waves coming into shore and feeling its awesome power. I don’t believe in much, but I do believe in the ocean.

    April 6, 2013 at 5:55 PM

    • So do agree with you Charlie! When I’m in the presence of the sea — there is little doubt there is more to this life of ours than we realize…
So appreciate your lovely words ~ keep believing! 🙂 RL

  24. Thanks you so much dear nightlake. Yes, yes…. I so agree that particular line was very powerful for me too. It represents ALL the love and ALL the lovers that ever graced those beaches — their eternal energies that live on long after they are physically gone. I am not sure if it everyone felt that — but I am thrilled you seemed to have captured the essence of what I was getting at here ~ So much Love and warm wishes your way! x RL

    April 7, 2013 at 9:54 AM

  25. Very beautiful. The words embrace love. The image reminds me how much I miss the water, which is still frozen here. There is something so connecting with the flow of water and humans. Wonderful post.

      April 8, 2013 at 6:17 PM

  30. Robyn I feel like your recent poems have become a bit more intimate and passionate and I appreciate that. It’s always wonderful to read you opening up and sharing your beautiful words and thoughts with all of us. On a separate note, have you been able to harness some of the energy and recovery from your time in Chicago and put it into action in your everyday life? Is your healing going any better since you’ve been back? Much love to you dear -AB

    April 8, 2013 at 9:07 PM

    • Why thank you so much Arash. I do get a little passionate at times when I escape into the images and writing… I would say it’s always “good therapy” for me when I can do this 🙂

~ As for me and my rehab… it is interesting. I am stronger in body and have improved awareness of mechanics… but I’m still dealing with what i consider unacceptable pain levels ( 24/7). I fear it just may be such a structural issue (shallow hip sockets and oddly angled femurs) that even with all the most diligent (and passionate) effort – I may not be able to control this thing (like 2 puzzle pieces that don’t fit together) ….. Considering seeing surgeons again – but would prefer not … so will give it some more time and effort.

On a positive note, today I did a something very bold — got on my bicycle (has been years) and rode around my neighborhood. I have a very cool bike that has a motor assist if i need it. As it turned out, I was very strong on the bike (no motor needed) – and actually felt less pain riding than i do walking or standing. Definitely stronger for having done the rehab —

I’ve got upper body issues as well as the lower – so there is a lot to deal with… I’m not giving up though – and if i can get to ‘tolerable pain’ and good function – would be thrilled. So that’s my update — how about you? Are you home from Utah? I hope some of that great energy came home with you too!! The technology/imagery in the facility there was just amazing! Sending Love and Light ~ Robyn

      April 8, 2013 at 9:30 PM

      • Those are big developments Robyn! Riding a bike is great news and that must feel so liberating to be able to do something like that after so long. I’ve always been such a big fan of bike riding exactly because it’s low impact so I’m happy to hear you were feeling strong with it. That said, I’m sad to hear that you have so much pain all the time. I can only imagine how hard it must be to deal with that and I wish I had a suggestion for you but I’m happy to hear that you don’t want to give up. Never give up! Our bodies WANT to heal. Our minds want to heal. Those 2 things go together beautifully and it’s up to us to harness that strength and fight with all that we have.

I’m home from Utah and had a great trip. It was truly helpful for me to learn from their program and I’m rejuvenated for my recovery. I’m hoping and wishing for the best in the near future. Much love -AB

  32. victoriaaphotography

Such wonderful words and so beautiful in their simplicity.
A perfect match for the image too.

I so admire your skill with words.

I started back on the poetry trail late last week, but never finished writing the verse.

Time flies so quickly these days. I sometimes worry that I won’t get to achieve all I want in this age of retirement.

Love & Healing wishes. Vicki xo

    April 9, 2013 at 2:46 AM

    • Thank you dear Victoria. I am touched by your lovely compliment and so glad you enjoyed! Oh how exciting – you are a wonderful writer/poet. It would be so amazing if you could combine some poetic verse (even if only a line or 2) with your magnificent photography. Make it easy for yourself by keeping it simple. Julie was the one who encouraged me back when – told me to write “my own quotations” for my photos… 🙂 I thought she was crazy! Sending lots of love and hugs ~ Robyn
