To offer creative inspiration to a fellow-artist
seems, to me, one of the richest gifts
we might ever give, or receive.
This gorgeous “art gown” entitled, Blue Venus was designed and created by the very talented and brilliant Resa McConaghy of Queen’s end.
Resa is a professional costume designer, and this is her 4th in an exciting series of “art gowns” featured on her blog.
She explained that she was inspired to design this one for me, after enjoying many of my writings and photos here, featuring sea, sky and love. I could not be more touched and honored, and thus wanted to share this magnificent gown, fit for a goddess, with all of you today. My poem, above, flowed from my pen and heart, almost instantly, after seeing Blue Venus for the first time. Clearly Resa must have intuitive powers, only having asked me about my favorite colors – and creating this fantasy gown that I truly adore.
Hope you enjoyed, and be sure to visit Resa at her Blog, Blue Venus « Queen’s end to see more photos of this stunning gown, and to learn additional details about the birth of her masterpiece. Thank you beautiful Resa ~ I will forever cherish this most incredible gift of your art.
Much Love Always
~

My dear Robyn,
This poem is as every bit as beautiful as I know “Blue Venus” to be.
You are a wonderful inspiration, and I just wanted to give some back. Now you give more back to me.
It is not just the poem, it’s the entire “tribute”… Robyn I was in tears, good tears!
I also want to tell you how beautiful the picture of “Blue Venus” is. I love what you’ve done, and I thank you my sweet friend!
I’ll be back after dinner with more love for you!
Love,
Resa
xoxo

Blue Venus will stay in my heart forevermore dear Resa ~ she is a wonder and masterpiece… For me, to be an inspiration for this art-gown is more than thrilling and I am delighted to be associated with your fine artwork. The inspired poem could not be hushed last night … I knew she would have to find a place beside your Blue Venus as soon as possible, and just so happy to provide this platform to share with all my wonderful blog readers.
Oh yes- I was hoping you would like how I treated the photograph of “Blue Venus” ~ wanted to make sure she was presented with care here — and aligned with all the mystery, romance and exotic passion that is inherent in her design. I also added the ocean image below her so readers can envision her in the context of the dynamic waves and shore ~ I admit — I love this post (personally)…. 🙂 All so special. Thank you sweet friend ~ I feel fortunate to know you here ~
Much Love ~ RL

Simply beautiful in words and art dress.
I offered to buy the dress with no luck lol.
February 17, 2013 at 5:57 PM
So do agree dear Benjamin. It’s a very special gown to me. You offered to buy it too? So did I !! We will need to convince Resa to transform her art into live magic that can be worn and enjoyed …. goes a bit against her concept – but this dress… well – you know!!
Love and Light ~ RL
February 17, 2013 at 7:53 PM
Yep even offered to trade art for art 😦 no luck
February 17, 2013 at 8:01 PM
You guys make me sooooo happy!
February 17, 2013 at 8:54 PM
Well – we will keep trying ~ I noticed Stan mention over at Resa’s the he’d love to professionally photograph this dress on a beach (he does some amazing glamour photography) . So if we can get her off “Judy” ( the mannequin) and onto ME ….Resa, Stan, you and myself will all go to the beach — where I will model “Blue Venus” – Stan will do a professional photo shoot, You will paint the scene (abstract of course) … and Resa will bask in the glory of it all ~ lol! Well a girl can dream, yes? 🙂 Sending Love ~ RL
February 17, 2013 at 8:06 PM
Yes that would be amazing !!!
February 17, 2013 at 8:07 PM
Okay,
Robyn… I would do this!
I have worked behind the camera for years.
I’ve dressed 2 Miss Americas, Sissy Spacek, Jon Voight, Christopher Plummer , Helen Mirren and more!
I can make this wardrobe com true.
I’m just saying what I can do.
Oh. I love you all!
– All my love – Resa –
February 17, 2013 at 9:03 PM
Oh Resa ~ you are soooo accomplished. Ok I have a new rehab goal now ! lol ~ How exciting would that be… and after creating this dress with me in mind — you can DRESS ME ANYTIME!! ~ x 💃

When I first saw Resa’s amazing work, I studied her style, manipulation of materials, and her application of Roman influence. I was equally moved by her incorporation of your thoughts on Clouds, water, and deep sky blue. She has created a masterpiece of art inspired by a master of words and emotion..that would be you dear Robyn. Now I have read over your creation of work honoring her, at least a dozen times, You have crafted yet another work that reaches into the very hearts and souls of all of us. It’s more than fair to say that together, the amazing talents of both you and Resa, have culminated in a total work of art that inspires, moves, and touches each of us. Now, I believe that qualifies each work in the definition of True Art, However; the complimentary combination of both works….absolutely priceless! Just know us mere mortals here TRULY appreciate the works of each of you, but together…you guys are simply amazing!
February 17, 2013 at 6:03 PM
Stan ~ you are so wondeful to share your insights on this post, and I truly appreciate. Have to agree Resa outdid herself with this masterful work of art. This gown has really blown me away. It’s not only gorgeous and rich in such intricate artisttic detail, but happens to be something I would truly be thrilled to wear (for the proper occasion of course) — now how did she know that? As for your lovely compliment re: my offereing of words to match Resa’s ‘Blue Venus’… I was up late last night and unable to sleep ~ so around 3 after having viewed and been mesmerized by the gown for the first time late yesterday, I basically just channeled the poem… and hoped I’d be as happy with it the next day. I really wanted to do Blue Venus proud. Very grateful to Miss Resa.
Means a lot that you think it works — did you really read this 12 times?? 🙂 I do agreee that there is somehting really amazing about 2 artists coming togetgher and spontaneously connecting and collaborating this way… Oh and be sure to read the thread above this one — we have a fantasy beach artistic project planned (and you are included – and you bring the wine)! Much Love dear friend ~ RL
February 17, 2013 at 11:44 PM
Sorry for the delay…still a lil woozy from the the thought of photographing you in Resa’s amazing creation….and, to toast the occasion with a glass of wine at sunset…on the coast of somewhere beautiful…see, still reeling! YES, I would be so honored to do my part! You guys just say the when and where, and I will be there!
Warm and soothing thought to ya!

Such lovely words from you Paul – thank you dear friend ~ very delighted to know you enjoyed this. Was special indeed! As for me — well … I’m as they say “in the belly of the whale” here ~ so much going on with my muscle/skeletal system that I’m a bit confused. Trying to find strategies for controlling joints that are very unstable – has been a challenge , as we make changes new symptoms arise. Guess will have to take deep breaths and keep the focus — and hope I come home with some new tools for living… Thank you as always for being such a sweetheart and checking in on that ~ 💙RL

Yes Resa is very accomplished ~ she’s dressed some ot the top film stars and 2 Miss America’s !! I am very honored to be part of her ‘art-gown’ collecton indeed!! 💙 RL

I hope you don’t have too much of the blues Robyn… Wonderful poem. I hope you’re still enjoying your time if you’re still at your healing place. Also hoping your pain is in control. Much love to you as always -AB
February 19, 2013 at 1:01 AM
Thank you Arash!! Yes — some blues this way ~ but blue can be a lovely color too… I am so happy you enjoyed my poetry to match Resa’s creation for me. I’m in awe of the dress ~ like a dream.
Pain has not been very behaved here — I think all the neuromuscular activation of muscles that have been on strike — and the quieting down of ones that have been engaging inappropriately has thrown this body for a loop (as they say)…. trying to keep my center and hoping for resolve….
I’m sending lots of healing thoughts your way today – and always dear friend ~ x RL
February 19, 2013 at 1:46 AM
When all is said and done, we all bear a piece of each other within us; By design-one that finds meaning and fulfillment@our sure meeting point submerged in the matchless magic of love. Beautiful piece as always. Shine on Robyn!

Ah, Robyn dearest one. I can envision you in this beautiful creation (so suited to you). And This post and the next one, such a glorious melding of creative talents. But even more than that is the extra something I sense and feel as well, that defining spirit of love that weaves it’s spell through such richly talented souls, such as yourself and your fellow artisans. You are much loved as is deserved, and that you inspire and are in return rewarded back again is this wonderful spiritual circle of love and talent. An excellent thing to feel even a small part of through your sharing of same. I am very proud to know you as a friend, much love and lots and lots of positive healing energy, Penny xoxoxo

This alliance between poet and designer has been a win for all, including your readership. Dancing on waves while water sings the tune is an enchanting image and phrased like few could. Agreeable metaphor and tone embellish the whole piece as the voice speaks purely and simply of love. Well done once again Robyn.
