The 12th Cascade
On this day
His year begins;
There’s birthday cake
Food, games and grins.
He blows his trumpet
Gifts us with tunes;
Sister accompanies on guitar,
Till guests are aswooned.
When celebrations are over
And all has been said,
He greets his 12th year
By cascading his head!

That is such a wonderful thing to emphasize Cat!!! You are so right… to be able to look back on these spontaneous movements from childhood is just amazing. Thank you Julie… was not sure I would post today as just got this candid shot a few hours earlier and had no idea what to write (actually solicited the little gentleman to try to conjure a limerick (his word today – I was impressed )) … but could not let the day pass without doing this… 12 years only comes once, and he and his sis are amazing children!! Thanks you Victoria… had no idea how it would turn out. I was a distance away and he was doing this “ritual” over and over so I just waited of the moment to click — and this was the best I believe — most magical looking for the water spray ~ he liked it too (and was surprised) 🙂

Awww bullodogsurf…bet you could!! 🙂 🙂 I was never one to write poetry (except maybe when I was very young) and just started trying more recently. It’s surprising what the psyche holds inside and how enjoyable it can be to express… To be honest, one of my dear blogging friends here (Julie) was the one who encouraged me to start to just write some of my own quotes (rather than always use famous ones) and that is how it began. Thanks Meryl…yes, this was a peasant surprise capture….I was in the gardens photographing plant life, and on the way back this caught my attention. Not sure why the background came dark as it was trees and shrubs…but do like the effect with the water spray against it.
