Hope & Healing Through Photography and Poetic Expression

Solo black bird fly away
Teach me there is just no way;
To capture pure absolute view
Of truths I merely thought I knew

  3. This is so thought-provoking and fantastic. Absolutes! I love the way your blog gets us all thinking harder and feeling with more depth. You are amazing Robyn! Juliex

    • Julie, so very wonderful to hear this from you. Am flattered by your comment – really. This one took a bit ~ was trying to develop a one-line quote for a topic that has stirred me for some time. When the short poem struck me, it became very easy to express. So grateful for your feedback and support ~ and sending lots of love to Australia today! xo RL

    • Lady Day (R) ~ Thrilled you enjoyed this! It was a big subject that I wanted to distill into a very short quote or verse. This one felt perfect. Thank you so much for your terrific comments. Means a lot! ~RL

Beautiful verse for a beautiful photo – I love silhouettes.
Lovely balance in your photo composition.

    • Oh so happy to hear that from you Victoria. I hesitated with this photo because as you can see — there was some “magic” that occurred with multiple exposure (unintentional) and we turned one bird into three 🙂 (well at least some in ghost form)… but then when the concept of the poem hit me (while showering) I had to use it, and hoped I could pull it off as artistic. So appreciate your comment!

  6. Haunting Robyn, and well put….so hard to rely on absolutes..just no way as you say…

    May 28, 2012 at 7:24 AM

    • Thank you Meryl…very true ~ there just are no absolutes I’ve learned. It is just when we are sure we have something “figured out” ~ that we come to then realize we know ‘nothing’ …. keeps us on our toes at least!! So glad you enjoyed~

  7. oh Robyn…This is beauty…this is art…

    May 28, 2012 at 8:15 AM

    • Wow David – the highest compliment from you. Thank you. I am touched.

  8. Robyn, you’ve outdone yourself once again with this verse and picture! Your words are pure truth, and the picture–stunning. Love, Jeannie

    May 28, 2012 at 9:28 AM

    • Thank you so much Jeannie. I am so happy you found this moving in some way. I had the photo for a while, and kept staring at it…the verse just came easily once I relaxed into what the image was saying to me.

Isn’t it so amazing that no matter how much we think we know, in essence we know very little for sure… Very grateful for your comment and thrilled you enjoyed! xo

You just keep setting the bar even higher for yourself! Love it!

    May 28, 2012 at 9:46 AM

  10. Thank you Jill… oooo that makes me nervous…though I did really “feel” this one. You thought ok, photographically-speaking? So glad as I did not intend to triple expose, the universe took care of that 🙂

    May 28, 2012 at 12:43 PM

    • Jill

Photographically stellar! Sometimes what is not intentional turns out better than anything carefully crafted. Don’t be nervous, just keep shooting!

      May 28, 2012 at 7:46 PM

      • Oh yay Jill thanks for photo guidance…was not even going to use this at one point…but kept calling me so I gave in. So glad you felt it was ‘stellar’ (like that word) 😉 Ok – will keep shooting whenever possible ~xo

  11. Love this, Robyn. I love the shadowed, double vision photo that begs the question: what is the absolute truth? And can we ever be completely certain? Maybe truths, too, are multi-dimensional, depending on the perspective and angle. Thanks for creating such a thought-provoking post! Hope you enjoyed a peaceful, sunny weekend!

    May 28, 2012 at 9:15 PM

    • So appreciate that KT~ yes, you are so right ….begs the question, and I’ve learned the truth changes moment to moment…never static. The challenge is embracing this, and going with flow etc. Yes – multi-dimensional always as well…contingent on where we stand in any given moment. I am so glad you liked the post….guess it’s been on my mind and so this was a wonderful medium to expresser myself. Yes, was a sunny lovely weekend here…hope for you too! Thanks again for you insightful post KT. Always love your take on things!! ~

  13. We try to process and can truth, but it is always growing fresh and is best enjoyed straight from the market. Well put. ~Regards, Dan

    May 29, 2012 at 3:26 PM

  14. Yes Dan — always changing, evolving ‘growing fresh’ 🙂 Best enjoyed in this red hot moment!! You have such amazing insight. Thank you.
BTW, just wrote you on your blog that I’m not getting email notifications on your posts… thank goodness I stopped by on my own — would not have wanted to miss out — phenomenal! 🙂 I tried unfollowing and re-following so hopefully will get them in future. Hope so as your work is on the top of my list! Best, RL

How are you Robyn.. been long since I had chance to visit ur inspiring blog.. nice little poem… truth is so deep that we can never be sure if that is absolute…!!!

    June 3, 2012 at 9:57 AM

    • Thank you Asifa…. and I agree — truth is never predictable or finite ~ way to complex to ever be ‘absolute’ ~ Thank you for you great insight. Hope you are well ~ I’m hanging in, though lots of issues to still sort out where my medical situation is concerned. Sending Love…to INDIA!!
