    • Thank you dearest Jane… Yes, I took this several weeks back… very random shot indeed, but kept seeing the scene over and over in my mind’s eye– so thought it time to go back and find some words… hope I did justice! Hugs and Love, RL

  2. Always your words find my heart and hand a help take me from this quaken shell. Thank you for your gift of words.

    • And Always, I am most honored to receive your warm praise and encouragement Benjamin. I am doubly touched to know my words and photos can bring you even a small amount of comfort during your challenging days. Your posts have a similar impact on me… Gratitude and Love, x RL

  3. Have you ever thought to put all your posts together into a book.?? The photography is beyond required beauty and I need say nothing about your words… they are just too beautiful for words…. these would make such a beautiful coffee table book… seriously think about it… I just love them all …

    July 13, 2013 at 11:39 AM

    • Thank you dear friend… it has been suggested by several here actually… I would love to do it for personal reasons… just to have hard copy of my progress and process in creating these posts. Will need to look into what is required. You are so kind, and you know I always appreciate the giant heart that is yours! x Love to you ~ RL

      July 13, 2013 at 12:46 PM

      • It is really not that difficult to do… I made up my book on Occupational Health and Safety, and merely found a printer… after having books printed I discovered I could actually have had them printed in China on a better paper and deliver back to me here at nearly half the cost of what I paid… but in the USA I would think you’d have no problem… I can assure you I’d buy it…

        July 13, 2013 at 1:15 PM

  4. Depth alert!!!! I love all the emotions flowing, pulsing through this…a hint of melancholy(the good kind), nostalgia, vitality, love, the feeling of forever, living in the now. The beach motif is so romantic. You do have a flare for capturing the best things, the most splendorous parts of life.

    July 13, 2013 at 11:43 AM

    • 🙂 you are so tuned in Ste J – I am thoroughly impressed. Maybe there is a bit of psychic ability lurking in that brilliant analytical mind of yours?! I think you picked up the “pulse” of this maybe more precisely then I was even conscious of while composing it. Yes – “living in the now” – and timeless energies that flow through a terrain like shore/beach. Nostalgia … yes, my daughter said to me – those random chairs could be sitting there 100 years ago.. or 100 years from now…and it made me think about “human emotions” that are also “timeless” – living on, generation after generation (at the beach perhaps). Thank you dear friend…I am very happy you enjoyed some splendor in this! x RL

      July 13, 2013 at 12:54 PM

      • Psychic? well I know when someone is stalling on getting another round in, so perhaps there is some truth in that. What I love about words and writers is that sometimes people see patterns or ideas that perhaps weren’t consciously thought of or perhaps not as developed as they may be, or perhaps just not intended at all and someone comes by has one read and sees a myriad of different rainbow like sculptures of thought different or perhaps a variation on the authors work.

I like that thought, emotions living on generation to generation, I think places associate themselves with a certain emotion. Well to be precise people do that to start with and then it becomes a tradition and then everyone just accepts it. I love this line of thought. Now how to incorporate it into a post….

        July 16, 2013 at 12:15 PM

  5. Deeply expanded emotions are simply flowing at its agile beautiness through Robyn’s words!! You’re killing me slowly through your posts. Love ya, Brave head!! ❤ \m/ 🙂 🙂

  6. I summed it up in my twitter Robyn. I have no words to properly express. In fact any words I might say, lessen the impact of your written words and photograph. Thank you dearest friend for the richness of beauty and talent in your soul. Much love, always, Penny xx

    July 13, 2013 at 12:36 PM

    • Thank you soooo much dearest friend of mine! I ran over to twitter as I am not getting notifications for some odd reason…. July 13, 2013 at 11:03 PM

  10. Dearest Robyn!
Your rhythmic poem is deliciously enchanting. It leads me along a “passion’s trail” then through a story of love.
All this love is timeless, as you say, and as you have pictured with your inspired photo.
It’s not a wonder that I always look forward to your next post. It’s like knowing a treasure is coming!
    F-G-S, Resa xoxo

    July 13, 2013 at 6:00 PM

    • Oh dear Resa ~ thank you sooooo much… you always can see deeper into my simple verse…. so true about love – think of how many lovers have visited this beach over time — how many chairs, just like these, have been set up to watch the waves… – playful games of catch etc… it’s pretty incredible to ponder. I am so happy you look forward and enjoy. I was just about blown away by your latest art gown today http://artgowns.com/2013/07/13/atlantis-mermaid-love-in/ ~ I know a few mermaids here who would be thrilled to wear such beauty!
Love to you my F-G-S ~ Robyn

      July 13, 2013 at 11:58 PM

      • As you have said about “Atlantis” _All you Need Is Love_ This is a wonderful sentiment, a Vintage sentiment! 😉 You rock it better than anyone. Love to my F-G-S _Resa xo

      July 14, 2013 at 12:29 PM

  12. at least to this heart, there is devotion and commitment whispering through these beautiful words, the chairs might be a little askew, but they will always be there when we come back around, meet each other again….share a drink, reminisce about these day of ours. this poem is so close to how i feel about my love of 12 years, it’s just wonderful Robyn, ty.

    July 13, 2013 at 8:08 PM

    • This is a charming view my friend. Yes those chairs symbolized so much… Thank you for taking the time to ponder here, and am very thrilled that my post was a reminder and reflection of the love you have in your own life. Cherish and Enjoy – Love and Light ~ x Robyn

  15. Well you did say that we’d be visiting the beach again soon…, and here we are. What a perfect picture and summation of life and its emotions, Robyn. You do have a way of weaving emotions and images together. Beautiful job! Big hug (for the beach)!

    July 13, 2013 at 10:27 PM

    • Yes Paul ~ it’s so hard to stay away from that place!! This shot was taken a couple weeks back…but it kept staring at me in silence, so I had to give it time to express itself. No doubt the theme it finally spoke to me about was– “timeless love” – So honored to know you enjoyed it dear friend ~ Much Love to you – and a beach HUG ~ x RL

      July 14, 2013 at 12:52 PM

  18. Bless you for being here. Insomnia has been wrestling with me but I have your beautiful photos and soothing words and memories of Carmel beach to send me off to sleep. Thank you, Robyn.

    July 14, 2013 at 5:08 AM

    • Thank you dearest Sheri… means a lot ! Me too on the insomnia — it has been a week of 5 am bedtimes almost daily ~ not sure what it is about. I hope your beach dreams soothe and lull you to slumber ~ Sending hugs and love — xRL

      July 14, 2013 at 11:35 PM

  19. Loved the ending of your cryptic verse.

Would this imply that all that we see meaningful in our lives has no beginning or end but loops through timelessness?

    July 14, 2013 at 8:41 AM

    • Thank you so much Shakti. Perhaps we sometimes see things of this world as being finite, when in essence they are eternal. In this case… the enchanted energies that exist at the beach … the timeless hearts that return year after year, generation after generation….. the sand and the sea… this photo, to me, projected this theme… a rather classic scene, one that could have been taken yesterday, or maybe 100 years ago…. the emotions: quite the same.
      Blessings ~ RL

      July 14, 2013 at 11:42 PM

      • Love the comment. Thank you Robyn.

        July 15, 2013 at 1:12 AM

  20. Great poem Robyn and I love the image. It’s one of those incredible photos that makes me think two contrary things at once. On one side, happy days and everyone has popped into the sea. On the opposite side there could have been a catastrophe and everyone has been forced to abandon the beach! Brilliant image and great post Robyn. Take care dear friend and much love xx

    July 14, 2013 at 5:47 PM

  21. Thank you dearest Ruth… so interesting to hear your interpretation of the image! I could almost write a new poem with it 🙂 Wow! –All I could imagine was the lovers that are off taking a lovely sunset beach stroll – or splashing in the ocean – but you know me – the hopeless romantic at heart! The thing that stuck me about the image was the timelessness of it all ~ “These Days” that, generation after generation have so much in common. x Love to you – Robyn

    July 14, 2013 at 11:47 PM

  22. What an adorable picture and your words bring even more beauty this photo. It makes me wonder what is the real story behind the photo.

    July 15, 2013 at 8:54 AM

    • Thank you so much w4jp! So appreciate – and yes, me too…had to wonder what the “real story” may have been. It was late in the day – sun setting and nobody within sight – just this scene. It did feel very nostalgic – and classic to me… though took me about a week to find my words…
I am honored you enjoyed!!! Much Love ~ x RL

      July 15, 2013 at 1:53 PM

  23. Chris

The beach photographs you take always make me want to be by the sea even more, I love the ocean so much… We’ve got beautiful countryside here but it doesn’t beat the ocean… How are things with you, Robyn? I got my specialist apt this morning for the 31st so will more than likely be having my MRI six weeks from then… I tried to e-mail you again to see how you were but I must not be doing it right… Any way I hope you’re bearing up okay… Much love…x

    July 15, 2013 at 9:10 AM

    • Oh thank you so much dearest Chris! That means a lot. We do have some very special beaches where I reside… it was always a dream for me to live here when I was small and would visit during summer vacation. On the other – no I have not received any emails – are you working from comments I’ve made on your blog … that usually works.

As for me – I just found out the hip guru I wanted to consult with has granted me an appointment in mid September (ugh) … he is world renowned and I imagine quite busy. I had no idea it would be such a long wait… and I may try for others in the interim. Clearly I am unstable and spend most of my moments trying to keep my leg from falling out of its socket (no fun – and tons of pain)… I can go ahead with an MRI ordered by my local surgeon … though I was tempted to wait to see this guru since he may want it done in a more specific method. I’m thinking on that… In the meanwhile – I am still working on very targeted rehab … I am probably in the best shape of my life though, and continue to have big problems so I know there is more to my issues. Email me anytime — so hope you are managing ok!! Love and Healing Hugs ~ Robyn x

  31. Pingback: Generation Hence | Book to the Future

    • Ste J, I loved your wonderfully insightful post ~ Thank you for reflecting on mine, and allowing your great brain to take it to the next level of evolution! ~ This part:” What I love about words and writers is that sometimes people see patterns or ideas that perhaps weren’t consciously thought of or perhaps not as developed as they may be, or perhaps just not intended at all and someone comes by has one read and sees a myriad of different rainbow like sculptures of thought different or perhaps a variation on the authors work. – Me.”

So true… and isn’t it the amazing thing about sharing here?

… and your choice of Coney Island as the ultimate example of how “emotions live on generation after generation” ~ Well – suffice to say I have the best memories of riding that crazy Cyclone roller coaster when my grandfather would take us each year when we were small! 🙂 x RL

      July 17, 2013 at 3:16 PM

  32. And Robyn,

    My favorite line…”these whispered words….”

  35. Fantastic poem and photo. I really like how you said the wind only lifts us so high, but a kiss moves us to the stars. Beautiful. And the chair askew in the photo is neat — I imagine someone jumping up in a rush to get into the ocean.

    July 18, 2013 at 6:55 AM

    • Aww thank you dear zookyworld ~ that seems to be a favorite line for many!! I am so glad. Also thrilled you enjoyed the image and your imagination took you to a time and place that way! Love and Gratitude for your kind words! x Robyn

  39. Dearest Robyn,

I have drifted away this winter in many ways. But today I came here again and read this poem from last summer. Evocative and moving , like all of your exquisite work. But perhaps because of my absence, and almost certainly because of my great concern for your health and well-being, it moved me nearly to tears.

I am sending you the strongest possible thoughts, thinking of you and your great trials.

When you return, we will all be here waiting for you.
