  4. Thank you dearest Penny! Yes – this poem is based on the true experience I had this week with these beloved honeysuckle flowers in my image… not sure anyone will believe me – but truly did occur. I was riding my bicycle and suddenly this aroma took me over ~ had to stop and surrender to the seduction of these blooms – of course I had to EAT one too! 🙂 ~ Really – True Story! Intoxicating it was! Love to you — and yes… I should be sleeping, I know!

  6. They are Linda (yummy)! Aren’t they amazing in aroma? I nearly fell off the bicycle… felt like I rode into some fantasy land or something…. Thank you sweet friend ~ Hope you are doing ok over there ~ Honeysuckle Hugs ~ x RL

  9. Truly words that are too sweet for bees, as always R, your words flow like the flowers they perceive .

    July 6, 2013 at 3:20 AM

    • Yes Yes B – there were so many bees feasting on these sweet treats, but they would not pose for my camera 😦 ~ 🙂 Thank you so much for your thoughtful words which always warm my heart. I hope you are back from your painting tour, settled home safe and sound by now.

    July 6, 2013 at 6:59 AM

    • Thank you Robyn ~ yes I am in awe of the scent these blooms so generously bask us in this summer season. I had to get off my bicycle and figure out where they were this week, so I could pay tribute here. Then I actually sought out a perfume (high-end) that claims honeysuckle scent as its top-note. I ordered a small sample so will see if it lives up to its ‘promise’ ~~ I am thrilled you enjoyed this dear friend ~ Love to you, RL x

      July 6, 2013 at 12:38 PM

      • Alright, we’re going bike riding! Nope, we’re going to the county fair instead! Bike riding later! he-he Love and hugs to you, too, and have a great weekend! We had our little romance last night (in my recent post). 🙂 xo

        July 6, 2013 at 1:46 PM

  19. You get me every time, Robyn. I’m reading (intoxicated is the right word) and trying to figure out where you’re taking us. I’m never quite prepared for the beautiful sweet surprise that awaits us………. I’ve often wondered of the world we would weave with only the words to tell……… I love this, and you, my beautiful friend. ~ Love ever, Bobbie

    July 6, 2013 at 10:52 AM

    • *smile* thank you dear Bobbie ~ I am so excited to know you felt a sense of the intoxication, as I experienced in my encounter. Also that you also read the words before viewing the image ~ allowing for unexpected surprises!! I wonder how many do that.. I know of 3 or 4 only. The WordPress reader shows the image – so I always thought most do see the photo first… but email notifications allow the element of surprise! Yes – could you imagine what kind of world we would create if ‘the words’ themselves could be the spark of manifestation? ~ Something for me to ponder this day. Thank you lovely friend ~ So much LOVE, RL x

      July 6, 2013 at 12:56 PM

      • Yes, I tend to shy away from the reader (too much to see at once)… and I like the lack of competitive windows found with the email notifications. 🙂 Yes close your eyes and describe a sunset………. 🙂 Love you.

        July 6, 2013 at 7:42 PM

  20. Smooth, sensual delight! Just what I needed to read. Beautiful work, my friend. xx

    July 6, 2013 at 2:13 PM

    • Thank you so much Noora. So thrilled to know you read this at the right time! Always appreciate dear friend!! x much love – RL

      July 7, 2013 at 12:28 AM

  21. To intoxicate as your last line says….well you certainly have, this is such a wonderful piece conjuring not just evocative images…but also scents and sounds…definitely the definitive summer poem!

    July 6, 2013 at 2:26 PM

    • Aww ~ thank you so much dear ste J! “definitive summer poem” ~ kind of like the sound of that 🙂 …and to think — no beach scene!! Very pleased to know you could feel, smell and hear this one ~ it was written rather spontaneously after my encounter with the seductive honeysuckle plants down the road! ~ much love to you, x RL

      July 7, 2013 at 12:33 AM

      • Ah seductive, my favourite word…after possibly poppycock, which is really underused these days. I digress though, beach scenes are great and all that but nothing beats the nature of the summer experience. If I had your spontaneity I would bottle it and sell some on eBay, you’d be loaded! x

        July 7, 2013 at 1:26 PM

  22. Sensuous! I well know the feeling of being overtaken mid-ride by something so delightful it can’t be resisted or hide. Loved this one’s rhythm. xx

    July 6, 2013 at 4:43 PM

    • Oh thank you dear Jess! I am so happy you enjoyed it.. and yes – to have the senses overwhelmed in this way was a delightful surprise indeed. Was fun to write about it too 🙂 ~ so much love to you, RL

      July 7, 2013 at 12:34 AM

  23. Beautiful fusion of words and image! Loved it!

    July 6, 2013 at 6:45 PM

    • So much thanks to you tiny lessons ~ very happy you enjoyed the combination ~ Appreciate! x RL

    • Oh wow Seb – such a lovely compliment! Thank you kind friend ~ means a bunch!!! x RL

      July 7, 2013 at 12:36 AM

  25. Besotting words, thus besotted I sit…

A lyrical play of the “mysteries of the unknown” known only to intoxicated hearts. O wonderful Robyn, this sure brought a smile to the lips, as I can see the sun rising gently through my window right now. Certain a wonderful day it shall be that started with a poetess’s finest tapestry.

You, my dear, always leave me thirsty for your next offering.
Have a great time ahead. Sending you a bouquet of Maldivian sunshine… and love.

    July 6, 2013 at 9:05 PM

    • Oh no — sf – you are not drunk over there in the Maldive Islands are you?! I would feel so guilty! 🙂 Teasing of course … as these honeysuckles could only promote the most blissful state of being! 🙂 I am so happy to see you , and know you enjoyed this.

Thank you so very much for this lovely thoughtful comment- can see your smile clearly too – very beautiful.
Always appreciate you – and hoping all is bright in your world this day ~ so much love x RL

      July 7, 2013 at 1:36 AM

  29. I too get the e-mail notifications and savour the words without the distraction of the visual and find this quite fun. like the scent and they really do taste sweet. Have a great weekend. On the bike-oh yes, that is good to hear!! Jane 😀

    July 7, 2013 at 12:08 AM

    • Thank you Jane! That is great to know…. I should do one of those WordPress polls to see how many look at image prior to reading words~ I am not quite sure how my blog evolved to this novel method — but for now it seems to be enjoyed! It may get boring at some point, and I’ll change it up some, but for now so glad you find it fun. Yes – they are yummy (these flowers) – and adore the scent! I have had a date with my bike nearly every day since my post on that first ride… I only ride a mile or so most days — but it’s a treat for sure! Love and Hugs ~ x RL

      July 7, 2013 at 1:39 AM

  30. Robyn, dear girl, you are toooooo much ! This piece really defies literary description. It’s just a wonderful piece of reality. I grew up with honeysuckle growing in the lane to the farm and know the scent and sensation quite well. It’s one of those wonders that sneaks up on you and grabs your senses until you’re forced to stop and admire it. The words and the photo are beautiful. ~xo~

    July 7, 2013 at 3:38 PM

    • Paul ~ that is so exciting You understand exactly what I experienced this week in my encounter with these aromatic buds then! .Yes– I was totally swept away. Never did i expect to would blog about my adventure … but I took a few photos (nibbled on one) and then later in the week revisited them, and did some research discovering some symbolic references on the plant. I love doing this kind of post because I always learn new things… I am so glad you enjoyed, and were reminded of those wonderful childhood memories …honeysuckle heaven … Thank you dear friend ~
      Much Love, RL

  44. Oh Christina – thank you so so much! • Thank you LuAnn, dear friend. I appreciate. I was going to drop you a note at your place…have been thinking of you, as I read your comment on Ste J’s blog. You are in my heart — I know you are going through some tough times … deep breaths – and please know I am always here for you. So much love, Robyn

      July 19, 2013 at 10:08 AM

      • Thank you so much Robyn. I would very much like to post on this subject at some point but until my husband feels he wants to discuss this with his sons, I cannot for fear of them reading my post. I have been doing nothing but reading about cancer for the past 5 years and I am sure you have done much of the same. Whatever treatment choice Terry makes, I will support him and be by his side. I cannot tell you what it means to me to have this email from you. Love to you and hope you are well. LuAnn

        July 19, 2013 at 1:03 PM

      • Gosh yes LuAnn – have been through so much with the medical research — I have a base of knowledge that only a medical professional should. The patient (and loved ones) often must be their own advocate. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I understand your posting has to be comfortable for Terry with regard to the family and privacy. He is so blessed to have you by his side LuAnn ~ much love xxx
