  7. Tatsat

I wonder… whether its the photo which inspired this wonderful poem, OR because I have read the poem, the photo appears …well… amazing !

Either way, both are works of art. Joy to the senses Robyn 🙂

    July 19, 2013 at 1:14 PM

    • Oh Tatsat ~ thank you so kindly for this wonderful comment. The truth is this piece is very much based in truth. I shot the photo the other day without intention of utilizing it for the blog – but in retrospect, I could not resist trying to capture its genuine essence in some brief words. I am so thrilled to know you were taken in some too! Much Love and Blessings ~ Robyn 🙂

  12. This is lovely, Robyn. I felt the kinship in this and could empathize with the feeling of longing and nestling by the sea. I like the texture of the footprints and the ruffled material as well as the angle of the model. I can feel the sand and smell the air. Jane

    July 19, 2013 at 3:54 PM

    • Jane thank you so much. I wrote this from perspective of young lady in photo – but yes, I know these are pretty universal emotions – and being close to nature is soothing to the soul in many ways. So happy you liked photo elements too – I Got a little lucky ! Just made sure the flip-flops and beach bag were moved out of the frame! 🙂 Love to you.. Robyn

    • Thank you dear Lauren… I am thrilled you found the combination to be a pleasing one! I enjoyed creating this… the subject is near and dear to me and the feelings were all happening in the moment there (little did she know I would plot to write about them days later!) 🙂 Love to you~~ x RL

      July 20, 2013 at 10:21 AM

  16. Once again, Robyn, you have taken me home – to the beach, to the water and its peaceful eternal rythm. There is a gentle calm about the picture and a soft, sensuous metre to the words. …..not that I liked it at all, wouldn’t you know. 🙂 Big Hug !
    Paul

    July 19, 2013 at 9:20 PM

    • Most happy to know Paul ~ it’s wonderful to be able to transport others to a time or place that is meaningful and soothing to the soul. So “you liked it??” LOL ~ It was a special piece to me – personally involved with the young lady featured too – and poem is based in truth for her. 😉 Love and Hugs – Robyn

      July 20, 2013 at 10:24 AM

  17. Amazing, isn’t it? How it is that a single moment can stretch to cover eternity…..such are those we know of love. Through the eyes of understanding and beauty, there our heaven. This is beyond words, Robyn. In it, your heart…….and we are blessed with the view. I love this and am grateful to the muse that allowed words to follow. ~ Always with love to you, my friend. ~ Bobbie

    July 19, 2013 at 10:30 PM

    • my dear bobbie – yes – so amazing how one moment can encompass eternity…. and how universal feelings/emotion can be projected and entwined with nature’s forces and Divine Love. This piece was very much written in the truths held in moment I captured the photo. My muse has some exciting things going on in her young life since returning from her study abroad… bet you can guess the rest! 🙂 Love always to you my wonderful friend ~ x Robyn

      July 20, 2013 at 10:32 AM

      July 20, 2013 at 10:43 AM

  22. “your song . . . heartstrings strum . . .” reminds me of a mutual blogger friend of ours . . . This was beautiful, Robyn.

    July 20, 2013 at 3:25 AM

    • Ahhh – yes Jessica – I know exactly who you speak of! In this instance, though – it is another young man who plays guitar and sings (to the young lady in my photo [my baby girl – shhh 🙂 ] ) ~ She has recently returned from 6 months studying abroad, where she met a wonderful adoring friend from another land … who happens to be a musical creative soul too. I could not resist composing this post, and projecting some of what she was feeling in these moments we spent together on the beach this day… So thrilled you enjoyed sweet friend – much love x Robyn

      July 20, 2013 at 10:51 AM

  24. You are very kind, and I so appreciate your warm words. So delighted to know you enjoyed this ~ I had lots of fun with it as well!
Have a wonderful trip my friend! Blessings and Love, Robyn

    July 20, 2013 at 2:30 PM

  25. Dear Robyn,
I wasn’t sure where I’d end up at the end of this warm, loving poem, and the climax was astoundingly special.
Of course my N is a guitar player who has strummed my heart’s strings for many years, so I imagined basking in his sun, by his sea.
Only 12 hour (exhausting) days have kept me from coming here sooner!
Take care my F-G-S much love _Resa xo

    July 20, 2013 at 2:51 PM

    • Dear Resa, oh thank you ~ * smiling* – that is just very beautiful and romantic – and warms my heart to know yours (and said ‘strings’) have been so well-nurtured by your N! 😉 I am just incredibly happy you enjoyed and this conjured up some good feelings for you – never a rush to visit here – you know my doors are always wide open. Sounds like you are burning the candle at both ends my F-G -S – so please take good care of you — the most important thing. Much Love and Giant Hug ~ x Robyn

      July 21, 2013 at 12:02 AM

  26. Sunsets vowed just to you and me…..such beautiful words…..and nesting by the sea is exactly what she looks like she’s doing amid all the ruffles of sand and fabric. The light in the photo is incredibly beautiful …..did you use an extra light source? Really stunning 🙂

    July 21, 2013 at 5:08 AM

    • Thank you soooo very much greenmackenzie! I did like the concept of “sunsets vowed..” as well! I was fairly lucky with the lighting – actually impromptu shot with no props at all – it was near sunset/dusk at the time though, which offered a nice effect. The ruffles – also very unplanned – this is an old (26 years) sheet we use for the beach ~ it actually peach colored but in the b&w/sepia presented as white which made it more seamless I think. Just thrilled you enjoyed ~ and grateful for your wonderful comment!!! x sending love – RL

      July 21, 2013 at 10:28 PM

  32. Delicious! I was floating and basking with you Robyn, I often use the word savor to describe experiences like your poem and beach basking. Thanks for the beautiful poem and ride!

    July 22, 2013 at 11:12 AM

    July 22, 2013 at 9:23 PM

      July 23, 2013 at 1:06 PM

  34. As always an exquisite piece of choreography, Robyn. Your beautiful photograph (a work of art) (and of course your lovely, if shy, model) and your poetic words rich with captured emotions of the moment, just excellent. There is a feel almost of nostalgia here, and soothing sensuality. Such a pleasure to enjoy your creations! Much love dear friend, xo

    July 22, 2013 at 11:59 PM

    • Oh Penny I like the idea of “choreography” ~ like each piece/post is a dance of sorts! In a way they are for me 🙂 I was lucky to get my subject to agree to share — we are keeping it off her Facebook ;)– so her ‘friends’ will not be privy!! LOL ~ So thrilled you enjoyed. For me was lots of fun create for all kinds of reasons! Love and Hugs to you dearest friend… x RL

      July 23, 2013 at 1:13 PM

    Robyn

    July 23, 2013 at 10:28 PM

  40. That’s a stunning shot Robyn.

As you muse thus, what is it that makes it all about you? Is it the vastness and the solitude of nature caressing you?

    Shakti

    July 24, 2013 at 6:26 AM

    • Thank you so much Shakti. I am thrilled you enjoyed the shot (was rather spontaneous and she was moving a bit but something there).

As for your question… first a definition of muse from https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/muse: “Today, a muse is a person who serves as an artist’s inspiration.” In this case my subject/muse is someone quite close to my heart… Spending this eventing on the beach together moved me to write the verse I did, to accompany my image which also tells the story. My words and feelings here are my projection of her deepest heart, if that makes any sense. With love and appreciation ~ RL

      July 24, 2013 at 10:59 AM
