    • Thanks so much Vicki! Glad you enjoyed this, yes – hoping to see a bit of beach this summer…. no matter. Have managed to get there a few times this season and it’s just gorgeous. Thank you my friend! 🙂

      Now as I see this:

      You too are a poet
Though you do not know it
      I have tried to inform
      You’re surely not the norm
      But this notion you resist
      As your skill persists
      Evidenced in all you write

  32. Robyn, speaking of love of all things! You epitomize and reflect this so exquisitely well, dearest friend. the ocean is so very beautiful and mysterious. Your gift of words bestows all this and so much more. You never fail to thrill me with the delicacy and sensuality of your written words while your gorgeous photographs so perfectly accompany, always a masterpiece, Bulldog has the right of it! Much love to you, always, xo

    June 24, 2013 at 2:22 AM

    • Aww, thank you beautiful friend. After reading your recent post on the topic, this means so much to me. I agree on the ocean… was visiting him just yesterday and thought to myself about how almost surreal it is to be with the sea that way…like being on another planet in some ways 🙂 I am delighted you enjoyed this Penny… yes – was so honored that Bulldog was moved to pen a poem…did you see? I have been encouraging him to do some poetry at his place too!! He has untapped potential there, I believe. So much love ~ x RL

      June 24, 2013 at 12:01 PM

      • Hi Robyn, you’re welcome! And yes like you I strongly feel that our own private energy flow becomes more balanced (and stronger), the more personally interactive and connected we are with nature (and our planets energy flow), like the awesome ocean in your lovely photograph! I did see Bulldogs words, how super cool that he was moved (by your words and photography) to bring that creativity out of himself! I read his poem and was simply tickled about it. I agree, a lot of untapped writing potential (there in his heart, mind and spirit)! Loving you, muchly, xo

  40. Perfection – The poem and photo returned me to a summer when life was in its most simplistic form. So tender to read after replying to comments on my own blog today. Your combination photo took me back to 1984, before Tom’s illness and we walked along the Carmel, CA beach on a regular basis. The sea symphony drummed out a steady, restful composition as the surf rolled in and washed back out. Every sound, though familiar, was a surprise. We were mesmerized, lost in the daze of being together.

    June 24, 2013 at 4:04 PM

    • Oh Sheri – especially knowing the subject which you blogged about today- this means so much…I can envision you with your wonderful Tom enjoying the songs of the sea together… it is a beautiful vision to hold. Sending you hugs and tons of love today and always dear one… thank you ~ x Robyn

      June 24, 2013 at 9:49 PM

  41. Ooooh simply exquisite! Forever you embodying me….also could be “forever me embodying you!” Robyn, your poetry is true art — people see themselves in your poetry and interpret it for their own lives. That is truly art. Magnificent, Robyn. How are you feeling these days??? Love, Lisa

    June 24, 2013 at 4:10 PM

    • Thank you so much Lisa! I did think just this — the sprit of the sea can embody us ~ just as we can be embodied in the ebb and flow of those powerful tides. Life and nature have a way of running parallel to one another quite often, don’t they? I am so very grateful for your thougtful words dear friend, and ever so thrilled that you enjoyed this. Re: me – I am stronger – and have acquired muscular legs and glutes thanks to all the rehab effort this year – very body aware, but still in limbo as to my condition – dislocation and pain are a constant companion. More testing is scheduled, though I’m procrastinating for many reasons… keep me posted on you – still amazed that you had the identical incident occur on the treadmill as i did at age 30. For me, I took the blow in the pelvis/hips/spine. I will never forget that! Hoping you are on your way back completely! Love, x Robyn

      June 24, 2013 at 9:58 PM

      • Robyn,

Thank you for letting me know about you — how you are doing. Yes, I’d imagine — very aware of your body and sitll in limbo as to your condition. It IS good to hear that you feel stronger – muscularly. Pain and dislocation – constant? You truly are in this body and with this pain very mindfully.

Re: the treadmill incident. I did take a blow to the pelvis, hips, and spine (and shoulder) as well as the head. I decided when it happened that I would embrace the experience with my mindfulness practice. I thought “If I believe these things I say and I practice them when times are ok and somewhat stressful, what about practicing them when things are REALLY awful? If I say I believe these things, then let’s put them into practice under ANY circumstance!” So I did. I believe very much so that the cure for the pain is the pain (Rumi). I believe that the pain IS the medicine. As nuts as that sounds. Ex. I said, “Ok so the most painful thing is the dizziness (I picked one symptom out of several!). The cure for my suffering must be the dizziness.” So I embraced “dizziness.” I embraced being physically dizzy and I embraced how my world needed to be “spun around” and made a bit dizzy — that I needed that for my own soul’s evolution. I am STILL swimming in the dizziness. And I am allowing it — even now finding joy and contentment in it. Yes, there are some really hard times. But this experience is really showing me that the truths I believe within me apply to every circumstance — ok, well, so far that I’m encountering in this life changing experience! I also believe that cultivating a posture of delight transforms suffering. So for the next six months, that’s one of my main practices — asking myself, “what delights my heart in THIS very moment?” And I’m savoring it. I’m calling it “Daily Delight Project!”

Sort of a “testing out what I hold to be true” kind of phase right now!

        Love to you,
        Lisa

  45. The sea and the beach Inspiration knows of poets source. We here in southern sea interact with music, Brazilian poets narrate and sing also with the inspiration of the soul, and you here …
    There’s a song that says:
    Then feel the cold
    the night wind brings
    and the soft murmur
that comes from the palm trees.
    And in the serene spaces,
    no yesterday or tomorrow,
    sleep in the brown arms
    ITAPUA’s moon, is good

  47. A gorgeous photo. Your words rise and fall like the gentle lapping of water around one’s feet on a calm and, naturally sunny. Exquisite is a prerequisite for your posts.

    • Thank you so much James… your analogy of water to words is quite lovely. I am most honored by your wonderful compliment with regard to my humble posts here, and just very delighted to know you are enjoying your visits! ~ sending love your way – RL

      • Thanks Sally, I always enjoy myself immensely here, if I were a wandering traveller, I would happily make my home here.

        June 26, 2013 at 4:34 PM

      • lol ~ Sally ? you are silly aren’t you? But is James your proper name? We can go back to Ste J if needed! 🙂 You come visit anytime no matter what the name is!

        June 26, 2013 at 4:43 PM

      • No my name is ste J but you know when people call you by a name and you are to English to correct them because you assume it was a mistype and then it happens again and you realise you can’t say anything now…well that is me. Sociability is tough for me sometimes…I shall always be back here, you’re even in my internet bookmarks!

        June 26, 2013 at 4:52 PM

    • oh no – I noticed the comment where you were addressed by the name James and presumably guessed that is where the J in Ste J came from! (see just had to override the spellcheck that wants to call you Set 😉 ) – ok – I will definitely use SteJ now – maybe my computer will get the message over time – and you, I know will forgive if the typo occurs! So flattered to be a “bookmark” for you too!!

      • Computers never learn, they are always right…Tron taught me that…fine film to boot (geddit??!!!). I book mark all my favourite blogs and my books too. I don’t mind being called set, although those Egyptians gave that particular God a bad rep.

  52. Lovely, Robyn! 🙂
I just love the seascape you paired with the words! I hope you are able to get out more and more, and enjoy more beautiful nature scenes like this. Have there been improvements for you, dear Robyn?

  53. Robyn,

What is is about the sea? I have often wondered why it is that I am so drawn to it and how it can wash away my stress and the busyness in my head.

Reading and feeling your poem here- and then coming to the image of the ocean- take me as close to understanding these things as I can get.

I love each of your compositions but this one strikes a special chord for me.

    Thank you.
