Thank you so much Yaz ~ yes, perhaps I have my holidays crossed
For me though, it’s always a love affair with ‘sunset’ – any time of year!! xo

Me too!
12/19/2012 at 02:24
Just a brief note, a touch beyond the ‘like’ button, to say I got a rush from reading what you created with the help of the universe. It’s nice being here with you.
Aloha,
Doug
12/19/2012 at 02:25

Beautiful poem Robyn and picture – truly brightens the day. Wishing you all the best for the holiday season and for a Happy New Year – in case I don’t get back here for a bit. Much love to you from across the sea! Ruth xx
12/19/2012 at 03:45
So much thanks dearest Ruth… Wishes are mutual ~ and just added a short addendum at the bottom of this post that I know you will appreciate ~
Much Love and blessings to you ~ RL
12/19/2012 at 12:29
I really enjoyed your addendum Robyn and appreciated it – just wonderful. I keep meaning to tell you: remember over on Chris’s site when I mentioned the trigger point book? You said you have the Travell textbooks – well I have them too – more that we have in common! Much love to you xx
12/21/2012 at 15:48
Thanks so much Ruth ~ Ahhh you too have the big red texts!! I have destroyed mine – they are at least 10 years old – higlights and earmarks every where… have learned a lot – but now realizing that it is my underlying instability that keeps the myofascial triggerpoints alive. No wonder I could never tame them no matter how diligent I was in all the methods… Would love to learn more about your case too Ruth … maybe in private email we can compare notes… I ma hoping to embark on a final attempt to stabilize through rehabilitation. Will have to relocate if I move ahead with this but may be my last stop before more very invasive surgeries… Drop a note when you are up to it — Sending you giant holiday hugs ! Robyn
12/21/2012 at 16:08
Beautiful poem Robyn – I enjoyed it very much.
and a magnificent sunset to match – just perfect.
Seems ages since I’ve seen a sunset – too tired to walk to an open space to catch one.
12/19/2012 at 05:04
Thank you Victoria ~ I know the sunsets here are spectacular. I try to get myself out as much as possible to enjoy them. For me it is easy as there are many open space areas in this locale! Sending hugs and warm thoughts your way for the holiday and new year … and added a special blessing at the bottom of this post you might enjoy too! xxooo RL
12/19/2012 at 12:31

12/19/2012 at 13:20
How did I first miss this blessing? John O’Donohue’s book ‘Anam Cara’ is held close to my heart and was a book I read to my friend Barbara when she no longer had the use of her arms to turn the pages. It was such an intimate time in my life and a memory I will carry with me forever. Thank you so much Robyn. Blessings to you and your family.
12/22/2012 at 10:22
12/22/2012 at 14:30
Thank you Robyn. I lost my anam cara when Barbara passed but I feel her presence always.
12/22/2012 at 15:17
Makes me teary to know this LuAnn ~ but I do believe a bond like this is eternal…and do not doubt that you indeed do feel Barbara’s presence – and always will. Much Love ~ x
12/22/2012 at 20:09
As Barbara’s illness progressed her spiritual connection grew and we spent many hours talking about what was important in life, what our fears were, and the simple pleasures we were blessed to experience. She taught me so much and I pray that I would have to same grace and courage that she possessed, and that I see in you, should I be presented with a physical challenge. Barb knew how much I would miss her presence and I feel that she has guided me toward other beautiful spirits like you to continue those lessons. When I mentioned before that you are a gift to us, I truly feel that Robyn. Your words touch me more than you can know, as I feel my anam cara Barbara through them. Many blessings and much love to you.
12/22/2012 at 20:17
LuAnn.. thank you so much for sharing this very intimate piece of your life with me. I feel very touched that you could feel so at ease and it sounds like Barbara was an incredibly special lady and dear dear Anam Cara to you. The notion of her guiding you toward others who you consider beautiful spirits makes my heart happy — and to consider me in this wonderful category – well, just means so much. I hope you are enjoying a blessed Christmas Eve with loved ones tonight dearest LuAnn ~ Angels and all … Much Love and Friendship always, Robyn

Love the poem from Anam Cara, my spiritual director lent me that book. I knew your poem was about the sun. It is chilly, but I am going out for a walk NOW because the glorious sun is shining and need to get out before the deep freeze. Think warm, my friend of the heart. By Christmas day it will be -28 celsius. Blessings, Jane
12/19/2012 at 15:58
Thank you so much Jane… yes ~ so excited you know this book too! I hope your walk was lovely yesterday ~ we are due for some crazy weather too I am hearing… with high winds … so taking advantage of the radiant sun whenever it graces us with its presence! Stay warm and have a beautiful holiday! x RL

Again, the way the poem scrolls is particularly enjoyable. I wrote something similar a year ago, but never posted it: a rendez-vous at the beach. this poem is lovely.
12/20/2012 at 13:23
Than you Bumba! So nice to know you like this odd style of mine — not sure how I ever started this vertical writing pattern – but it has stuck, and seems to appeal to many, so for now guess will keep at it
oooo you wrote a poem about beach rendez-vous? Would love to see sometime! Nature offers so much emotion and opportunity to explore poetically. My most similar about beach would be this one : : http://throughthehealinglens.com/2012/08/25/the-finale/ if you have not seen…
I bet yours is wonderful ~ definitely give a holler if you post! ~ Warm wishes, Robyn

12/22/2012 at 20:46
Robyn, what sweet love here!!! i adore anam cara — i keep it on my bookshelf in my room. i come back to it every so often when the season in my life calls for it. suuuuuch rich poetry on every page. i remember reading it for the first time, a present given to me by my mother, and i would have to stop after each paragraph and ‘take in’ his words.
your poem today reminds me of rumi and hafiz. yes, the divine just wants US. what sweetness, robyn! thank you soulful poet and friend, lisa
12/22/2012 at 06:56
Oh wow Lisa — that is so wonderful to know. I just discovered the book fairly recently and it truly did resonate with me. I agree… so rich in poetry and spiritual wisdom that is universal… and to me very healing. I will need to give a copy to each of my daughters now, thinking how special it was that your Mom gave it to you. ~ as for my poetry — it’s all play and fun stuff… but such a touching, wonderful compliment – -and gift from you my sweet friend ~ Much heart and soul-felt thanks and LOVE always ~ RL

A company to share
A shoulder to lean on
You carry my sighs on your palm
As I wear your heart in my necklace
The clock forgets to tick
as we embrace eternity in a hug.

Come ! Fly with me
on the wings of a metaphor
feel the pink clouds
filling the nerves of time
with a divine romance.
Come! soar with me
like a poem frommthe depths
of a heart beat.
Feel the thirst of deserts
on your lips
as the night gets darker
and a symphony
awaits to paint the sun
with the kiss of gold …..
Come…..
01/04/2013 at 19:39
Nika ~ you have a way.” A song lies coiled deep inside…”
That first verse just took my breath away for a split second.
It pertains to so much in life…so much we keep ‘coiled’ inside – waiting for the perfect moment
in which we are allowed to “become” ~
become what we really have been all along.
Very profound and very deep dear friend.
Your poetry is always amongst my favorite reads here …
or at your blog.
Blessings and Love,
Robyn
01/16/2013 at 14:08
Just realized you composed a Part II Nika!!! Oh my goodness — from where do these lyrical verses flow? It is always refreshing and fun to read your spontaneous energizing words. I love this one — almost reminds me of my own style of writing ~ or something we could easily convert to song. Excellent my dear friend ~ and many thanks for your creative spirit always ~ Robyn
01/08/2013 at 11:00
A song lies coiled deep inside
like fallen leaf in autumn
Waiting for waft of wind
to guide it to the earth ….
A touch shall unleash
the frozen echoes soon
when spring shall announce
her love for the mankind …
We shall become the song then
when spirit becomes the infinite
like a sign wave in eternity
filling the ocean of love ….
